Welcome
Hanifi Rohingya is the script created for our Rohingya language. It was developed in the 1980s by a Rohingya language committee led by Maulana Mohammad Hanif, which is why it is called Hanifi.
Three things to know
- It is written from right to left. Start on the right side of the line and read toward the left.
- Letters join together. Most letters connect to the next letter in a word, so their shape can change slightly inside a word.
- It works on phones and computers. Hanifi Rohingya was added to Unicode 11.0 in 2018, so you can type and share it like any other language.
